Sick
Having coughing fits recently. Well it ain't that serious yet but i'm hoping to curb it before it worsens. Cos i damn hate being down with persistent coughs when i have to teach! Took mc on friday cos the next day was the dreaded Saturday but in the end, it didn't turn out that bad cos the principal finally saw the light and got an additional teacher.. Phew~~

Sorry to say this, but there is one particular student whom i extremely hope to get moved to another class and out of my sight. And my wish got granted! Lol. My apologies to xiaoxiu's friend.. yeah she was recommended by me earlier to help out, though i hardly know her. Anyone to save me from that kid.

There's another new boi i have and though his level is pretty low for his age, i am kinda glad he's the chirpy kind who doesn't let the other bois get him down. Was trying to 'defend' him cos the rest kept making fun of him by telling him the wrong meanings. He was sick too and his mum prepared this herbal drink for him and the silly boi kept wanting to 'gan bei' with me whenever i drank my water. Lol.

Been thinking about the path i should tread recently and realization finally dawned on me that maybe i should stop forcing myself stubbornly against the flow and for once, go with it instead. There may be dreams i once harboured of attaining, but given the impossibility, i might be happier if i chose to burst that bubble of my own accord. No point drawing wonderfully gorgeous sandcastles in the air and spending the rest of my life admiring them from a distance.

This is what i call 'Second Best'.

Something that i would never have entertained in the past.

But it wun change in some aspects..

I miss chae do woo, evil smirks, scheming plots, multiple personality disorder, sister-obsessions, psychopath and all. Lol.

Heard that [Devil] was as intriguing as this was. Ok, maybe i should go dig out my [Devil] again somewhere.. Though the main lead has gone out of the spotlight, and i doubt he will be back any time soon given his drug meddling scandals, but it does have one of my favourite female leads, Shin Mina!

So many dramas, so little time.

Argh.

And now that my two (tuition) bois are back from korea and officially back to school, it marks even less personal time for myself. Yawn. Speaking of kids, i kinda realise that sometimes, kids seem to treat me like one of them i.e. on the (im)maturity scale. I had another boi who accidentally spilled a drop of water on his paper and while at first, he was just playing with it by colouring it with his ink pen, he proceeded to letting me try it and even eagerly gave me different coloured pens to 'play' with. For a moment, it was as if i was the one fascinated by the whole thing. Lol. And he even told me that i should drink 8 glasses of water to be healthy and after examining my bottle (I admit it should be high time i threw my plastic bottle away), he declared that it was too dirty, and immediately confiscated it. Double LOL.

Oh and there was another small boi i met once during the morning program who was extremely infatuated with hermione granger and kept on insisting that she's his GF. XDD. So he went on to describe that april 15 is his favourite day cos it was his GF's birthday and they could erm go kissing! HA. Trust me, i think he's only in grade 3 at most. Anyway that was the first time i saw him, and after awhile, he turned to me and asked me, 'Why do u have a streak of gold/brown/blonde hair like hermione?'

I smiled at him and replied, 'Cos i dyed that streak for fun.'

'Ok, i like you cos you are pretty.'

For the rest of the lesson, he wrote HG besides my name.

IS that adorable or what.

But i wanted to tell him, i seriously think i'm nowhere like her at all. -____-'''

Well, i got my prayers answered cos obviously Do woo got off the hook due to his what-was-that multiple dissociative personality disorder thingy. Unfortunately, i didn't see things coming that particular way and instead of his death, the director had to go bump eun soo off!!! Argh.

Sorry, for those who haven't watched it yet, this is gonna be such a huge damn spoiler.

I JUST can't believe my eyes when her pulse just stopped. She didn't even wake up for at least a moment, enough for her to say her last goodbyes to the 2 people she had the largest impact on. Especially her Bro!

For all the evilness, my sympathy still lies with Do woo. It's not as if he wanted to be psychopathic of his own accord; and yet he has to pay the eventual price and with his one and only heart gone, how pathetic can that be..

And the final smirk kinda made me relieved. At least i know he's still there..

But i think eunsoo's symbolic passing kinda squashed all possibilities of having a sequel. I mean, much as i think he should pay some long-lost attention to his wife, i don't really wanna entertain the thought that she's able to replace his sister's place. Because, i would prefer to leave things as they are..

No matter what, i still think the relationship between do woo and eun soo came across as the most significant in the whole drama, as compared to the weaker, and messier lovelines.

Oh well, another great drama down.

He's such a beauty. Awwww. And somebody commented that iljimae always has matching ribbon colors to go with his outfit. Lol. I laughed out loud at that comment and immediately went to check out the authenticity of that statement. Well, it's 100% true! ^^ He's having a blue ribbon in that pic, but he has red and grey ones too to go with his red and grey outfits. Hee. That's adorable.

Do Woo and Eun Soo!!
*freaks out*

OMY. Episode 17 of [Story of a Man] is just freaking good. It's not often that i revel in scenes where the baddies appear cos more often than not, they are merely balding old men or else wicked stepmothers blah who hold boring conversations amidst all the plotting stuff. But Chae Do Woo is just damn charismatic. Lol. Yeah, despite, or rather, because of his psychopathic character.

Well, for one thing, i still don't see much in kim kang woo as an actor (he's erm just not pretty ha) but his portrayal of the baddie is awesome. Awesomely freaky to the point that i have to give him absolute credit for his acting. XD.

Anyway, i just love all the scenes between Do Woo and his sister, Eunsoo. I can't even describe their relationship properly. True, they may have depended on each other since young; well, maybe more from do woo's point of view so he kinda grew up into an obsessive freak (why do i keep using this word today) who always tries to keep his sister by his side. Quoting from javabeans, 'Do-woo doesn’t look at Eun-soo through that specific lens. She’s not slotted into a specific woman’s role in his life (wife, sister, mother) — she’s just Everything.'

Creepy.

There was an earlier scene when do woo was getting married and instead of looking at his bride (ok, she is really a smokescreen i guess), he was gazing at his sister during the veil lifting-cum-ceremonial kissing part! EEEEEEEk.

But the thing i found most interesting about their relationship is that as i had mentioned previously, this guy is totally devoid of emotions and unable to feel at all. Yet, his only Archilles' heel seems to be his own sister for whom he actually shows a flicker of emotions at times. Which kinda makes me feel sympathy for him occasionally when his only pillar of emotional strength is not there for him. Ok, i know he's the villain but still...

Anyway, the scene in Episode 17 that made me totally squeal at its creepiness. It gave me goosebumps the first time i watched that part but i went on to replay it for like 4-5 times sometimes without watching it i.e. only listening to the dialogue and i would go as far as to say that while it does give off an uneasy vibe, it is somehow, beautiful.

However, the conversation they had was kinda long and while every part of it contributed to the overall feel, i shall just put up the later half cos coming from do woo, they depicted the epitome of emotional manipulation, effectively and beautifully executed by him. Of course, his blank expression, unfeeling tone and unblinking eyes brimming with tears helped.

Before that, Do woo was questioning her about her involvement cos in the show, she was actually on park young ha's side i.e. the good guys' side and hence, going against her own brother.

도우: 언젠간 니가 말했지. 오빠가 힘들면 말하라고 그럼 도와주겠다고.
DW: 你曾经说过对吧。哥哥辛苦的时候，要说出口，这样 你就会帮我。

은수: 음
ES: 对

도우: 도와달라고 하면 도와줄래?
DW: 如果叫你帮我，你会帮吗？

은수: 그럼..
ES: 当然。。

도우: 오빠.. 은수 니가 필요해. 니가 옆에 없으니까 나 멈추지가 않아.
DW: 哥哥。。需要你。因为你不在我的身旁，我无法停止。

은수: 내가 어떡하면 돼?
ES: 我该怎么做才好？

(Here, Do woo's eyes actually lit up a notch, perhaps anticipating a favourable reaction from his sister.)
도우: 오빠가 너한테 바람하는 거 하나뿐이잖아. 내 옆에 있어.
DW: 哥哥对你的要求不是只有一个吗。　呆在我身边。

은수: 언니가 있잖아.. 오빠옆에.. 그러니까 오빠..
ES: 不是有姐姐吗。。哥哥身边。　所以哥哥。。
(The sister refer to the sister-in-law=do woo's smokescreen wife)

도우: 괜찮아 그 사람 다 알아. 나한테 니가 뭔지 알아주는 사람이라 결혼한 거야.
DW: 不要紧。那个人全知道。对我来说你意味着什么　已经知道才结婚的。

And of course, the HIGHLIGHT of the conversation. Words alone are definitely not enough. Its best to watch it and just stare at do woo's expression. The way he deliver his lines, in a slow and deliberate manner and his chilling, vacant tone, is just overkill. Lol.

He really really goes all out to slow down his pace, as if trying to let eunsoo digest every single word he said. And OMY (again) who on earth says that to his own sister??????

There he is, hardly concerned about anything else or anyone else and here he is, referring to his sister as his only heart. I know it borders on incest, but nope, its not as if its romantic; rather, its as if his whole world hinges on the presence of his sister. The only existence who has an impact on him and whom he trusts and relies on enough to make her a permanent fixture in his neo-Monaco kingdom out of his own desire. Yeah, that was the so-called fantasy kingdom do woo was trying to build singlehandedly all along. His wife is there as the 'Queen' but of course, just to be a mere figure to complete his kingdom and more to provide an heir for him than anything else.

He ain't that crazy enough to get his sister to fulfill that role. (DUH)

Haha. Sorry. I don't see how the ratings could have been so bad when it's so damn good. Everything is so nicely paced out, the suspense is there, there's no dull moment, and well, there's always philip lee. Heh. The best goodie of all? The Psychopath. :)

Ok, back to rushing my [Return of Iljimae] too. Another wonderful show that i can't get enough of, especially the couple scenes. Absolutely wonderful.

Heh, given that i have a record of labeling a show as wonderful 80% of the time because of the eye candy, [Story of a Man] must be really excellent. I have no interest at all in Kim kang woo and i'm all squeals n squirms whenever his character comes out. Cool.

Finally..
last friday marked the end of the morning program. I know its extra moolah but its just so darn tiring and getting on my nerves as it dragged on from an original less than 2 months stint to nearly 3 months. Add to that it was close to what i consider as pure torment, having to teach english to a whole group of students who were here for a month long immersion program and their standards were totally....

NOT THERE.

Argh.

They could barely form simple sentences, needless to say try to answer comprehension questions. In the end, i just threw in the towel and let them copy straight from the text without rephrasing to answer the question suitably, or else skip it entirely.

My electronic dictionary surely helped alot this time. -____-''

Well, of cos there were delightful moments i guess. Maybe not with this particular group of kids but with others. I actually have a pair of twins and i still see them on saturdays; but i'm closer to the older one cos i see him more often. He's pretty cute but is extremely noisy. And i really mean extremely. To the point that the principal had to drag him out by force once so that i could lock the door and of cos, lock him out. The dear boi was trying to beat up my stuffed koala with an umbrella!! Win~

Previously, he tried to stuff a gigantic spoonful of icecream into my mouth, apparently to see me brain-freezing though it din work. Then, he dumped a whole bag of sweets, lollies and beef jerkies on my table for me. That was followed by an attempt to teach me self-defense by demonstrating on my arm. According to him, gers need to know self-defense since they are only able to throw weak punches. The funniest one of all was when i had tried to snatch the dictionary away from him (he's not supposed to use it for the vocabulary section) the week before and he was really enjoying the tug-of-war and last week i actually ignored him and ta-da~ he grumpily threw it at me and finished his vocabulary. Ok, thats what i call reverse psychology. Lol. Of course, all those incidents happened on different days.

If he wasnt cute, i would have flared up one of those days. Ha.

Damn.

So many shows i wanna watch and i'm still in the midst of completing my [남자의 이야기 Story of a Man], [돌아온 일지매 Return of Iljimae], [드리플 Triple] and [바람의 나라 Land of Wind]. Yeah i have the tendency to launch into a few series at the same time. And now i wanna watch [드림 Dream], [아가씨를 부탁해 Take Care of the Fair Lady], [결혼 못하는 남자 The Man Who Can't Get Married], [탐나는 도다 Tamra the Island] and definitely, my [Unstoppable High Kick] Season 2~~!

More kim bum, jung il woo (!), yoo ah in, im joo hwan and ermm, hwang chan bin? Or should i say, Pierre Deporte.. Heh. A French guy who speaks korean (gasp) as the lead~ Should be very interesting, or at least amusing. ^^

Of all, i really can't wait to catch jung il woo's role as a chaebol.. Ha. If i had my way, i would have definitely casted him as one of the F4 and its pretty easy to guess whom i will replace.. OOps. No offense but that particular person just didn't go down too well with me. But then again, i might just squirm in my seat if i had to watch jung il woo say cheesy english pickup lines like 'yo-yo-yo', 'my friend', 'whaddsup'....

Ooooh but i'm really enjoying [Story of a Man]. Philip is certainly an added bonus. HEe. I'm so digging kim kang woo's role as chae do woo. He's so dark and chilling that he gives me the creeps but then i have always had a soft spot for intelligent guys and he's definitely way up on the IQ scale. The most wonderful thing?

This guy doesn't have a conscience. At all.

As certified by his psychiatrist.

Meaning: He's just an empty shell, devoid of all emotions and therefore, incapable of feeling.

Diagnosis: He's a full-fledged psychopath!!

That was like the coolest thing ever... Lol.
